As You Have the Power’s (YTHP) Director of Education, you’ll be a full-time member of a dynamic team. You’ll help drive YHTP’s efforts in fulfilling their mission to empower those victimized by crime through education, advocacy, and understanding by coaching, developing, and promoting YHTP’s educational programs.

Summary of Responsibilities
The Director of Education will oversee YHTP presentations and curricula administration to community members, groups, businesses, and individuals. The Director of Education will develop YHTP educational and instructional materials, implement them with community members and YHTP clients, assess its effectiveness, and coordinate appropriate updates of educational and instructional materials. The Director of Education will develop materials for facilitator training (“Train the Trainer”) sessions. The Director of Education will work in collaboration with internal and external contacts to market and promote YHTP presentations and curricula through various modes (email, website, social media channels, etc.). Additionally, the Director of Education will assist in applying to state and national conferences and serve on local committees to promote awareness of crime victims’ rights and empowering those victimized by crime through education advocacy and understanding. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities and Duties
Develop, update, and implement presentations, e-learning courses, and curricula
Plan, organize, and conduct facilitator training
Plan, organize, and conduct conferences, panels, or workshops available to businesses, service providers, and/or interested community members
Analyze presentation, e-learning course, and curriculum data and develop plans for improvement of materials
Coordinate and supervise activities of contract employees and facilitators in relation to presentation, e-learning course, and curriculum development, review, and implementation
Collaborate with the Director of Operations to ensure budget items related to educational components are used effectively.
Recommend purchase of instructional materials, supplies, equipment, and visual aids designed to meet instructional needs.
Participate in relevant committees with partner agencies
Create reports on satisfaction surveys, outcomes, registration (as applicable) and participation, and progress toward grant goals and educational objectives.
Create and implement a training framework that increases awareness of domestic violence at the workplace and establishes responsive procedures and practices.
Research and develop curriculum to include workplace training, facilitator training, an online curriculum platform, and pre- and post-presentation surveys.
Identify and contact businesses and the appropriate executives/managers to schedule and hold meetings regarding relevant YHTP services and the DV educational programming.
Implement workplace training to show employees and communities how to stop the cycle of violence; deliver facilitator training on a wide range of issues regarding violence prevention.
Follow-up with each companies and clients after presentations and the implementation of training for report regarding employees accessing DV services; gather data necessary to evaluate program activities; maintain program statistics.
In in collaboration with internal and external contacts to market and promote YHTP presentations and curricula through various modes (email, website, social media channels, etc.)
Conduct research with statewide DV centers regarding statistics before and after PSA campaigns to ascertain increase in calls and services.
Coordinate translation services for curriculum.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Degree in education, instructional design, higher learning, or human services field and three years of related experience or at least six years of related experience
Previous experience in education of all ages and learning styles
Knowledge of domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, and other interpersonal crimes
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office suite)
Experience working in Thinkific, Storyline 360, Wondershare Filmora X to develop e-courses and edit videos for e-courses and social media
Proficient in social media platforms and analytics, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Hootsuite
Excellent communication orally and written – and interpersonal skills
Self-starter
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Willingness to travel statewide, possibly 50% of the time after the first year
Ability to effectively manage a wide array of tasks, projects, and responsibilities
High degree of integrity
Ability to listen
Evaluate and relay communication of what people are saying (and not saying) when identifying issues
Understand the value of all feedback
Keep communication open on all levels
Desire to enable other team members to do great things for the organization
Comfort level hearing responding to stories of those that have been victims of violent crime

Prior experience marketing and/or promoting community education a plus
Second language a plus
General hours are 9 AM. to 5 PM, Monday through Friday
Some evenings/weekends required for special events, committee meetings, community involvement, and presentations/training. Some travel for in person presentations when safe.

Salary Range
$45-50,000 annual
Working Hours
M-F, 9am-5pm – Occasional evening presentations. Some travel (when safe). Must be COVID compliant.
