You Have the Power was featured in the December 2020 edition of DELTA, the newsletter of the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence.
It provides training and education for survivors, law enforcement, criminal justice professionals, and other allies, alongside legal clinics and other guidance for people dealing with abuse and sexual assault.
Below is the article as it appears in this month’s edition of DELTA:
The text of the article is as follows:
“You Have the Power (YHTP) is a nonprofit that empowers those victimized by crime through education, advocacy, and understanding. YHTP provides crime victims with information on what to do and where to go next, and how they can work with investigators and authorities to find justice and resolution for their cases. The organization also offers education to the public to raise awareness and understanding, and provide risk reduction tactics. Their free resource guides and community presentations explain how crime happens, how to respond to it, and what to do if it affects you or the people you know. Additionally, YHTP is in the process of developing e-learning courses (as the organization adapts to the needs of the public during the pandemic) and a training curriculum for workplaces on the impact of domestic violence and what workplaces can do to respond to that impact. YHTP anticipates the release of their e-learning website before the new year and the workplace training curriculum in late winter/early spring of 2021.”
